Dermoid & Epidermoid Cysts

Rare, benign cysts present from birth — slow-growing and typically curable with surgery.
In brief
  • Benign cysts arising from cells trapped during early development
  • Very slow-growing and non-cancerous
  • May press on nearby brain structures or nerves over time
  • Diagnosed on MRI (epidermoids have a characteristic appearance)
  • Treated by surgical removal when they cause symptoms
A detailed information sheet on Pituitary Tumours is currently being prepared. In the meantime, Mr Russell welcomes the opportunity to discuss your diagnosis and treatment options with you.
